About Us
We are skipping the "how we met" story because, well, most of you know 😉. Instead, here are works of art, ideas, hobbies, games, etc. that we find interesting.
Martin: The Witcher 3
The Witcher 3 created an epic fantasy world inspired by medieval central Europe. After moving to the United States, I often felt at home in this virtual world.
Martin: Age of Empires II
When I was 12 years old, my godfather gave me a copy of Age of Empires II, pirated on a rewritable CD. I have probably bought the game five times since then and still occasionally play it.
Martin: East of Eden
A good family friend gave me a copy of East of Eden on a visit to California. I became a fan of John Steinbeck's novels and classics of American literature, despite (or because?) I always had difficulties with the German classics.
Martin: Ice Hockey
Ice hockey became my favorite sport after living in cold upstate New York. Go Big Red!
Martin: Two Men Contemplating the Moon, Caspar David Friedrich
It reminds me of gazing at the night sky with friends as a teenager.
Martin: The Last of the Buffalo, Albert Bierstadt
I find the American West and its lost landscapes, peoples, and animals fascinating. I enjoy Albert Bierstadt's paintings thereof.
